My Session (mysession.ca) is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our platform, whether you're a therapist seeking support, or a clinician listing your practice.
For providers, we collect: your name, professional credentials, regulatory registration number, email address, and the profile information you choose to share publicly (bio, fees, specialties, photo).
For seekers contacting a provider, we collect your name, email address, the role you describe yourself as, and your message. We also record the IP address of the request to prevent spam and abuse. We do not create accounts for seekers.
Provider information is used to display your public profile, verify your registration against your regulatory college or licensing board's public register, and process your monthly subscription.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it for any purpose beyond operating My Session.
When a seeker contacts a provider through My Session, their message is stored securely and delivered both to the provider's dashboard inbox and to their email. We never publish or share a provider's email address, though a provider who replies directly will reveal it to the seeker. Enquiries flagged by our spam protection may be reviewed by us.
We use third-party service providers to help operate My Session, including providers of payment processing, database and cloud infrastructure, website hosting, and email delivery services. These service providers process personal information on our behalf in connection with providing their services to us and are subject to contractual and other safeguards designed to protect personal information.
Some of our service providers process or store personal information in the United States. When personal information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by courts, law enforcement, or government authorities.
We use minimal, functional cookies to keep you signed in to your provider dashboard. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days.
You may request deletion of your account and profile data at any time by contacting us at support@mysession.ca. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Canadian users have additional rights under PIPEDA, including the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections. US users may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws, including the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion.
